No flame, no gas, and a glass surface that responds to touch: induction trouble looks different from gas trouble.
This is a 30-inch induction cooktop. The ZHU prefix is Monogram’s induction cooktop line, and it is a current model. Induction heats the pan itself through electromagnetic action under a glass surface, so the questions are about power, electronics and cooling, with no gas involved.
Most complaints are about behavior rather than a flame you can see.
We explain the shutoff pattern in Monogram induction cooktop shuts off and the control problems in Monogram cooktop touch controls not responding.
An induction zone needs a suitable pan sitting properly on it. A warped pan, a wet control area or a spill beside the touch keys can look like a broken cooktop. Before a visit, clear the surface, dry it, and try a different flat pan on one zone. If the glass is cracked, stop using the cooktop and switch it off at the breaker.
The unit is set into the counter, with electronics and a fan below. Airflow around those parts depends on what sits in the cabinet underneath, and a drawer stacked tight against the underside can restrict it. A technician looks at the clearances and the supply circuit; see Monogram appliance trips breaker if the breaker trips.
If you notice a burning smell, sparks or melting, switch the cooktop off at the breaker and leave it off until it has been inspected.
Check the breaker, wipe and dry the glass, make sure nothing rests on the control area, and write down any message or beep pattern. One controlled power reset at the breaker is fine. Do not lift the cooktop or open the cabinet wiring.
Give us ZHU30RSTSS in full when you call. The only other induction cooktop is this one, but induction ranges such as the ZHP line are a different family handled under Monogram range repair. See Monogram cooktop repair and Monogram cooktops for the visit and lineup.
No. It is an induction cooktop, so heating happens electrically through the pan.
Causes can include the pan, a hot control area or an electronics fault. A technician tests the zone before drawing a conclusion.
Not necessarily. Moisture or residue near the keys can interfere. If the glass is cracked, switch off at the breaker and stop using it.
No, it is a current model.
